Anyone for blackberry jam? Apricot jam? Oh, alright then, how about an Epic Jam? We’ve spent the last week or so rootling around in the hedgerows to dig out the juiciest, most exciting content… but you’ll have to read on to find out the rest. Plus, we’ve shaken out the Treasure Hunter carpets and given Oddments a refresh.

Oddments Refresh

We wanted to make you aware of some the changes we’re making to Treasure Hunter Oddments in response to your feedback. We want to make Oddments more satisfying, while providing alternative ways to obtain some types of rewards.

It’s worth noting that there will be further changes as we experiment with balancing and we receive your feedback, so please tell us what you think.

First off, we'll be improving the Oddments exchange rate on all items – this will mean you receive double or triple the Oddments (depending on gem rarity). The price of items in the Oddments Store is also increasing slightly, but the end result is that the whole Oddments process will net you more than it did before.

As a bonus, we’ve also doubled everyone’s Oddments balance! Plus, we’ve added some new items to the oddments Store (Proteans, Small Portable Packs and Magic Notepaper) and tweaked the price of items to offer greater rewards for Bonus XP options over Direct XP (for instance, Lamps are more expensive while Stars and Pulse Cores are cheaper).

In the future we will be limiting both the number of items that can be purchased and adjusting how Oddments are obtained. Keep your eyes open for updates on this soon.

Epic Jam

As you might have heard on last week’s livestream, our devs are currently busy working on a few small projects as part of our Epic Jam, a two-week long adventure where they try new things and find out what might and might not work for the game. Tune in later this week for the final update, but until then, here’s a sneak peek at some of the things they’ve been getting up to:

Untitled Waterfowl Update (uwu)

Elemental Workshop 5-7

Golden Clue Scrolls

Araxxor Quest

GE History Pins

Ripper Demon Pet

Elite NPC Droptables

Pet XP Broadcasts

Legendary Beast of Burden QoL

Vorago QoL

For more info on all of these, check out the VoD from last week’s livestream

Patch Notes

Of course, while you're sweeping up the leaves and dusting off those dark corners, you're bound to encounter a few bugs. See what we did there? Anyway, here are the highlights from this week's patch notes:

The Elder Divination outfit's 'Chronicle Teleport' will now teleport you slightly closer to the Chronicle hand-in locations. (May Stormbrewer and the Guthix Monument)

Based on player beta feedback we have made it more easier to cycle between hidden, minimised and maximised chat box sizes on mobile by tapping the envelope icon.

Various Crashes are fixed include one related to Hunting God Jadinkos & swapping the enchantment on the family crest Gauntlets.

MontyAtRuneFest Competition

Those of you who’ve joined us at RuneFest this year probably remember the cute-but-(probably)-deadly surprise found in your goodie bag: Monty! This little handsome devil was back again this year with a prehistoric appearance, and once again we invited you all to take pictures with it – you know, show them around RuneFest! And since we love to raise the stakes when it comes to community fun, the best picture shared on socials would get a 3-months membership & RS/OSRS Soundtrack vinyls!

Well, we’ve now had the time to review all entries and results are in! First, we’d like to thank you all for taking part in the competition and sharing such amazing memories of your time with Monty at RuneFest. We’ve seen a lot of funny entries shared – and we invite you all to check #MontyAtRuneFest on both Twitter and Instagram to have a good laugh!

Alright so, who’s won this year’s competition? *drumroll* Congrats Dad_Haz, who’s been lucky enough to capture two Montys in their natural habitat (with a peculiar “mommy”)!!
